Read Law Right is written by me, Chris Luff. I’ve been teaching law to UK undergraduate students for over 15 years.
Before studying law, I worked in the investigation and prosecutions department of the Department for Work and Pensions. I left the DWP to study for my undergraduate law degree at the University of Essex, where I stayed to complete a Master’s degree in UK Human Rights and Public Law.
I’ve been tutoring law since 2011, first in the classroom and more recently online, teaching primarily Public Law, Criminal Law and Land Law.
Over those years I’ve become particularly interested in the skills that sit underneath successful law study: how to read difficult material efficiently, find the reasoning in cases and academic writing, develop your own analysis and evaluation, and communicate a persuasive legal argument. Those are the skills I explore through Read Law Right.
I also provide occasional one-to-one consultations on law study skills, feedback and proofreading, together with private tuition in selected areas of the LLB curriculum. Please use the Contact page to enquire about availability.
